Lost your notarial deed? In Italy you can retrieve it (and it has legal value)

It happens a lot: you lose the original deed of sale or donation, and no one knows where to retrieve it.

The good news? In Italy, the Conservatoria dei Registri Immobiliari keeps (for real!) all registered deeds. All it takes is one request to obtain a certified copy with full legal value.

It is needed when:

• you cannot find the original deed
• you need to prove ownership
• you need to do a title deed or probate
• the notary is no longer available (perhaps he has ceased activity)

A simple but essential service for reconstructing the legal "history" of a property in Italy. Better to have it before the notary asks you for it (and you don't).
